I’m doing portraits again. In an attempt to rejuvenate this blog, I’ll be starting another round of self portraits. Egotistical? Very! However, I’m an easy subject and always get along with the photographer. Going for daily through the month of February. Stay Tuned
7-9-06 Skateboard

Another portrait of Jake. He’s very proud of his skateboard, still learning how to work it but doing a dang good job of it. This was taken for the second assignment in the Strobist Boot Camp.
7-7-06 Wedding
Sunday, July 9th, 2006
Here’s an image I took yesterday. It’s from a wedding I assisted another photographer with. Sean Cayton is a pretty well known wedding photographer here in C. Springs. He does really excellent work and it’s been a real honor and learning experience to work with him.
7-2-06 Headshot
Monday, July 3rd, 2006
Headshot of my son for Strobist this is a reshoot of the first Bootcamp assignment. If you’re interested in using off camera flash better, this is the place to go. He’s a reporter for a newspaper out in boston and is a genius when it comes to using flashes for lighting. Check out his site if you get a chance.

Trying my hand at some product photography. Needs a little bit of work, better background material than old wrapping paper would be a good place to start, better positioning of my lights would be another. That’s what experimentation is all about though.
Picture a Day 2006 Begins Anew
Saturday, July 1st, 2006
The PaD is begun again. I’ve been dying all summer without anything to shoot, so – I’m forcing myself to shoot stuff. Welcome again to the bumpy and turbulent ride of picture a day. I’m hoping to keep updating better this time.
Work Work Work

Just another day at the office. I got to shoot the “Last Park Standing” competition at Echo Mountain here in CO today. Had a great time. Thanks to Echo for hosting such a fun event. It was originally going to be a slopestyle comp but was changed at the last minute to a rail jam – OK by me, because that means less hiking up the hill. Congrats to all the winners today – Especially Ian Cosco, who took home $1000 in prize money for placing first in the mens pro skiing division. After the comp I got to go to the VIP after party, another fun time… but I left early as I needed to drive back home. Shots from the event coming soon – I’ve only got 1300 to go through.
Happy!

I had a pretty OK day today. Started out good, went bad, and is good again. It’s crazy how things go sometimes. I shot this one in my kitchen with my 50 1.8. Needed the 1.8 this time to blur out my crappy background. Whatever works though, gotta get the shot! My photo for tomorrow may come up late, I’m going to a huge end of season get-together with the shop team I’ve been shooting with all year. Don’t expect to be home until late.
Sillyness

I needed to goof around some. I’ve been so serious with my portraits that my silly side just wasn’t getting enough show. So I get this shot. Completely different from what I was thinking of originally but I think much better as well.
